In VITO's OpenStack private cloud environment, anyone can access a virtual research environment with a rich Earth Observation data archive and a powerful set of tools and libraries to work with the data (e.g. SNAP toolbox, GRASS GIS, QGIS) or to develop, debug, and test applications in R, Python, or Java. Different flavors of virtual machines are available for the most demanding needs.
Product Description
VITO's OpenStack private cloud environment provides the ideal tools to get the most out of your Earth Observation data. Analyze, develop, scale and discover more on the powerful VITO virtual machines while also gaining access to the PROBA-V Mission Exploitation Platform. Customize your virtual machine to just the right amount of power that you need for your project. VITO virtual machines come natively with Cent OS 7. Microsoft Windows OS is available upon request.
VITO hosts the PROBA-V Mission Exploitation Platform in a cloud environment, allowing direct access to a global archive of EO datasets (SPOT-VEGETATION, PROBA-V and Copernicus Global Land Service) with a selected archive of Sentinel 1, 2, and 3 data, which enables a wide range of applications to be developed and served. Furthermore, OGC services such as WMS/WMTS and OpenSearch are readily available for access.
In addition, get free access to open-sourced Jupyter Notebooks and Web Interface services via API for optimizing workflows with retrieval and analytics (see below). A Jupyter Notebook is a web application that allows you to create and share documents that contain live code, equations, visualizations and narrative text. Notebook samples are available for users for a quick and easy start of in writing their own algorithms.
A free of charge small VM configuration (4 vCores, 8 GB RAM, CentOS 7, 80 GB HDD storage) is possible by leaving blank the VM configuration, selecting the desired start date and subscription period below. Please indicate in the remarks field that you need the small VM and note that this option is restricted to one instance per user. To see all complementing products, please click here.
